Sadly Frankie has accepted a substantial offer from Redhill FC and has left T&M with immediate effect.

The 2nd time he has left...strange timing given the cup SF tomorrow...seems money does talk 😕

That's a shame... The little man is really choked.
Frankie's got a young family to look after so every penny counts, don't be to harsh on him...
Best wishes Frankie and thanks for always finding time to talk to Anthony.
Cheers...

What was it that Frankie was quoted as saying after he returned to us from Hastings? Something along the lines of having left us for financial reasons but returning because of footballing ones. Hmmm.

I find that a bit disappointing. Last time he left he said that he would never make a "sideways" move, but it was only the lure of one of his previous clubs and the promise of a promotion challenge that led him to move to Hastings. This time if its simply a financial decision I find it a very poor show. As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't have him back as he's shown that he hasn't got any particular loyalty to us. And we're a club that needs a decent team mentality, not someone who would just leave for the excitement of a relegation battle.

Agree ENDO...what happens when the money on offer runs out ? Cannot help thinking this is just a short term offer intended to keep Redhill up and if correct what happens next season ?

I don't think we should take him back if the opportunity ever comes, he's now proven that he can leave at any time, even with a Cup semi-final coming up. Timing stinks..

Gutted!!!!! Not much else I can add really!!!

If he's gonna move, he should wait until the end of the year or at least give a few weeks notice - leaving like that the day before a semi is just selfish.

It'd be funny if Redhill got relegated... I wonder if he'd have the cheek to come back a 2nd time?

I'm totally baffled by this decision to jump ship. I'm totally p***ed off by it!!!

Words fail me.
I can forgive him for him leaving to go to Hastings the first time for the very same reason, and I even said this to him in the bar then, but to do it again, really leaves a nasty taste in the mouth, especially as he is aware of how well he is thought of by all of us.
From a personal perspective I would never wish for him to wear the black and white stripes again, and what a moment to choose, apart from the two Bishops Stortford games, tomorrow is going to be the biggest game of the season, with the possibility of all the hard work and disappointments of the season, bearing fruit.
I do hope this does not have a negative effect on the squad, we are NOT! a one man team, and as good as he was I am sure someone will step up to take his place, we are a TEAM! and tomorrow I hope will prove him wrong to leave at this moment.
What an abysmal way to finish a day!

I can't remember the last time I was this cheesed off by a player leaving. I know that even at this level money talks a bit, but I still don't expect a 1st team regular to jump ship to another team in the division. Now Sawyer has done it twice. Last time he had the benefit of the doubt as there were possibly a couple of mitigating circumstances, but not this time.

Well at least we know that we have the ability to play good attacking football with just 1 up front.
Possibly explains why he missed a very easy chance on Saturday against Hummmmm Redhill !!!!!

Like you always said Gary, he was never played in his best postion and you could see his frustration. I am sorry to see him go as he always gave 100%.

I wonder what he was thinking when the 98th minute equaliser went in?
Offline
He was thinking '' I wish I'd scored that ''
The grass isn't greener in Redhill it's just wetter, look how many postponements they've had.
The Pound Notes aren't greener either, there's just more of them.
The only place the Pound Notes are greener is Guernsey !!
I'm ripped in two with this Sawyer thing, I loved the bloke but he's stitched us up like the proverbials with the timing of his p*ssing -off. We should just be thinking of tonight's game.

Come on guys.Time to put this little episode to bed and focus on this massive game for Craig and the lads tonight!!!
CRAIG TANNERS BLACK AND WHITE ARMY!!!

Remember we don't have to play one up front. We are at home against a team in a lower league so why give them an advantage. Remember how rubbish we were in the first half against Burgess Hill. Let's have Sol Pinnock playing alongside Dan up front and let's attack every chance we get. Come on Craig, let's see no negativity from you in this game - it's our only chance of a bit of glory this season!

The way we played the "one up front" system earlier in the season was quite an attacking style, with Pinnock on one flank and either Newton or Nkoma on the other.

I'd better bring my boots.

OK then, some facts.
Frankie has stated that he spent most of his time with us "out wide" or "on the bench".
In his time back with us after rejoining for the game against Herne Bay, Frankie has only ever played one game in the main team out of the No 10 shirt, and indeed has only featured 5 times on the bench (at least two of those because of returns from injury etc) in his 25 + 5 appearances for us !
I love you to bits as a player Franklie but your motives to ditch us one day before a really important cup tie are somewhat suspect. Thanks for the 14 goals but I don't expect there'll be a warm welcome from the Bog End for you when we see you again (probably with yet another team 'cos as sure as eggs is eggs, Redhill are doomed !)

I'm sure players have moved from other clubs to Tooting because of offers they've made in the past. It's really just a fact of life in football. What annoys me is that Redhill cling on to a pretty clueless manager whose approach to the game is bring in a load of new players with great fanfare see if it works over the next fews weeks and then go through the whole process a month or two down the line. They get fairly decent playing budget because of hospital parking and yet the pitch, ground and clubhouse seems to be going to the dogs. It's a sad state of affairs but Redhill FC are not the club they were in the dim and distant past and really they need to get their their priorities right before they can establish themselves as an Isthmian club.
Maher offered good money to a Whyteleafe player earlier in the season and he went. But the team spirit was poor, he wasn't happy their and came back to Church Road. Next time we play them (at Kiln Brow) Maher takes it upon himself to start abusing the player calling all kinds of names under the sun.
Man's a joke.
