Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

Let me extend to you an invitation to our (that is Whyteleafe FC) first ever beer festival.  This is on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 May at our Clubhouse. We will have 32 real ales available (it was going to be 30 but we thought we'd round it up to 32) + a couple of dodgy ciders.

Advance tickets are only £2 and are available from the club office and from behind the bar.  However, if it's a fag getting over here just to pick up a ticket, it's only £4 on the day.  Both ese prices include a glass, so it's the best value beer festival around.

We're showing the FA Cup final live should you be interested in such matters but there are plenty of places to hide if not.  My two main criticisms of beer festivals I have attended in the past (of which I have been to many) are: a shortage of seating and entry cost. We have tried our best to address these issues but, given that this is our first ever festival we don't really know how things are going to pan out and apologise in advance in the event of it turning into a complete disaster which of course we will do our utmost to avoid.

Sorry to advertise on your forum.

Please drink sensibly

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

Nice one Lee - also a nice little trippette to the Radius Arms on Godstne Road should be on the agenda.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left !

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

Do you guy`s realise, they are showing the cup final at the same time?
I can not think you would enjoy the afternoon "Cricket"
I am sure you would rather have your fingernails pulled out with pliers.

I can think of a few volunteers to do the extracting Ouch !!

It's got to be Fosters, it's got to be fizzy and it's got to be out of a can.

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

Anyone mentioning the 'F' should be banned from the club. The man's got no taste, but I suppose we already knew that!

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

I always thought the 'F' word ended in 'uck' not 'osters'

And you're wrong Benchy......some people are completely oblivious to the fact I've got no taste....or they were until now

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

Re entry cost. Don't have one then. Loads of beer festivals around and it doesn't always involve tickets/entry fees. 4 quid to get in would put me off instantly.

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

Andy it does not state if the glass is full or not. if full, then it is not a bad price.

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

£4 in gets you a glass (no beer!). I don't go to many Beer Festivals any more. They were great in the old days when it was difficult to get anything out of the ordinary but now with micro pubs and the wonderful range of Ales in Wetherspoons, every day is a Beer Festival and cheaper.

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

That`s what I like Andy, your glass is always half full, cheers.

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

I hope it was a success anyway, at least they are making the effort.

Re: Beer Festival - Whyteleafe

Good to hear that Andy! It was very busy from about 3pm my only criticism is you had to buy tickets in advance to purchase beers and couldn't buy them as singles! Also it worked out to £3.60 a pint and somebody had forgot to put half pint markers on the glasses. Overall pretty well run!
