Sir Tim Megone Speaks

Words of wisdom from Sir Tim Megone:The Lord loves a repentant sinner, surely none more than free scoring central defender Jordan Cheadle, returning triumphantly to T&MUFC Temple of Truth, after a deviant half a season spell at Walton Casuals.Some contingents of the black and white army turned up late at East Grinstead's ground, getting lost in the village after conducting valuable scientific research in the pub. The delayed support clearly affected our heroes, as maybe, did the Fiorentina style purple haze o...f an away strip: we conceded an early goal when Jordan's defensive partner 'Hurry Up' Harry Knock deftly poked the ball into his own net.It took a while - in the searing heat of the sub tropical North Downs - for both the players and the massed Bog End Choirs to get their arses into gear, but the Good Lord smirked when Billy Marshall was toppled as he ventured boldly into our opponents' box. The ref saw fit to award a free kick on the edge of the area, rather than a penalty, but Jordan strode forth to deliver divine retribution, smiting the heathen foe with a rasping drive into the far corner.The second half produced a load of sweat and toil but not much in the way of chances until a foul five yards outside the box gave our proloific prodigy yet another chance to shine. 'They dive to their left, they dive to their right, Jordan Cheadle ... Makes Goalies look shite,' sang the Bog End prophets: Cheadle fired, the keeper floundered, and the ball sizzled in the back of the net for 2-1 with five minutes left. The Glory was Ours.It was a day for the Believers, the Priests and the Seers: on another prophetic note, I should point out that our only league title in over 40 years of - mostly - Rubbish, since I began my ill-starred affair with this club, started with a spookily similar opening match, back in 2000:-One team (admittedly our opponents, Wokingham) played in purple.
We trailed 1-0 early on;
We won 2-1;
I guess that's the title in the bag then. One down, 45 to go. Come on you Stripes.

Superb Jordan.  The "Tiny Tears" incident is now banished from the collective memory banks.  Anyway - that Stefan Cox was a nasty bastard, wasn't he.
