Another good run out. Goals from Summers and Cheadle (pen). Nkoma and Marshall were impressive.

Bunking off work again Gary ?? or given up flogging old bangers ?

For what it's worth. I thought TJ had an exceptional game, he looks so dangerous when he's running with the ball................and it seems he's learnt to pass a lot more often too ! 9 out of 10 for me..............and Leon too, he had a cracker and terrorised their defence when he came on.
Dan needs to sharpen up a bit but it'll come, still early days back from his enforced pre-season lay-off.
Good to see Makofo back in the squad, a lot more work to be done there to get sharp enough for first team duty. Hwowever, to be fair, he didn't get much service during the short time he was on.
All in all, looking forward to an excellent season ................. and Max is still in the wings getting over his injury.
See y'all at East Grinstead, come down en masse and swell the Bog End noise !

I was not as impressed as against the Fulham side.
Started very brightly but, somewhat oddly, it was not the needless goal we conceded that seemed to lower the confidence levels but the missed one on one chance for Dan.
And it never really picked up again against a makeshift side who had a fe decent players (no 6 especially)
However finishing always gets sharper as the games go on.
(Gary - rearrange the words: barn / hit / could / not / a / door. in respect of your love child at the start if every season. And yet......goals, goals, goals)
If you are going to play TJ in the side then it only makes sense to give him lots of ball time.
And once hauling somebody down brings some reward then we will see even greater benefit from his trickery.
I like our young No 10. Mobile, good on the ball and works tirelessly. Can he score goals to match that work rate? Let's see.
Sol P started last season on fire and seems to be concentrating on getting the ball in from wide quickly. That can only encourage the strikers to get in the box. Good.
Let's hope for a good start.

Bondy I think you might be talking about Gareth Chendlik, he has been wearing the no.10 pre - season, the first game I saw him on the 3g pitch he impressed with his work rate combined with his ability on the back post to head a ball, he has scored a goal, but like you I wish to see more, hopefully as he and Dan build up a relationship they will come.
Roll on East Grinstead.

Sorry Gary, I did not make it very clear and you picked the wrong love child.
I was referring to Paul Vines, not Dan.
Charlie was dreadful at the start of every season. If the goal had been twice as big he would still have blazed over/wide. But as he ticked a few games off......goals, goals, goals.
You can go through pre season and run, sprint, jump, head, tackle etc. but finishing demands a good first touch and then a clean contact. And that timing only comes with time.
Hence my comment: 'However finishing always gets sharper as the games go on'.
If we can get Dan more service than last season...........phew
Don't worry about me. I can't go in the bar at half time but I am always welcome in Auntie Lyn's den of drugs and debauchery.
However while you are knocking back a few cow pies during the break you will now see me officially on 'divot duty' with Brian who has presented me with my very own fork!
Might need you to help out with the rolling later in the season.
Oh, and I have renewed my season ticket. So no freebie entry for me just for wearing a silly vest.
