Wise Words From Sir Tim Megone :
Time was when Corinthian Casuals' worthies would have barred ne'er do well knave Diego Maradona from representing them. But on Tuesday, he rolled up at Imperial Fields to deliver the killer cross for Casuals' (more or less) decisive second goal in a 3-0 win against the Mighty Stripes. In truth, our heroes were a bit Rubbish that night. Billy Marshall managed to sling over a couple of quite seductive corners that went begging and that was about it. Casuals' keeper, ex Terror Dann...y Bracken was so under-employed, he could have deserted his post and spent the entire ninety minutes administering blow jobs to the massed ranks at the Bog End and it would have made no difference. The ref must have been blinded by Casuals' flesh'n'turd flavoured shirts as he failed to spot shirt-pulling, bordering on sexual harassment, in the build up to the third goal.A few short decades ago, the perpetrator would have known his fate as soon as he dealt the dirty deed. He would have marched silently towards the stony faced headshaking moral majority in the stand and disappeared down the tunnel. Waiting for him in the changing room would have been a loaded revolver, ready for the bare-faced bounder to unload into his shabby skull, do the decent thing and blow his own brains out.In those days, the colonies were ours and Casuals were Corinthian, but times have changed and Diego Maradona is now Brazilian.
