YEAR AFTER YEAR.....DROSS UPON DROSS -

A lifelong supporter of this once great club, like so many others over the last couple of years, my enthusiasm for the Terrors has  completely disintegrated to  the extent  have not been to watch a match for months.   However, it’s still the first result I look for, nearly always in disappointment

Last night I thought I would pay a visit to the Hub (laughing here) mainly to see my footy mates, who still endure the agony of watching such useless degrading substandard football. I started my two and half hour journey to Mitcham, in high spirits, only to leave 90 minutes later in abject despair, wandering why I had let myself in for watching yet another dreadful experience.

I used to say this league was 3rd rate football, I must apologise, it’s 4ht rate, and Tooting would have a problem climbing out of the Combined counties league which they are heading for! There was only one player last night who could play at a higher level, and that was Hythe No 10 who scored a brilliant goal and covered every blade of grass. As for the others they are playing at the correct level of football, or in some cases above their ability.

The first 45 minutes the Terror were a mindless shambles, basically just shouting and yelling at each other. The ground is completely non atmospheric and soulless, even the Bog End (all 29 of them) could not be heard above the shouting of the players.  Yes I counted the Bog End fans, as I was so bored. TYe game ended with a derversed win for lowly Hythe

Over the last 10 years the Football club has declined beyond recognition, staggering from one crises to the next. The club will not go anywhere unless a Manager and players with experience in the Ryman Premier are recruited.  This will only take the club to 3rd rate football. And then a whole new set players will take it the next level, Conference South.  The ground is the envy of most, with a team that cannot even get near to matching the surroundings.

Investment is required to take the club to the next meagre level. I remember the new owner eloquently saying the hub is the way forward for the Football Club. Well it was the way forward for his own ambitions! Where is the money coming from to make the changes needed……Well ask the owner, he’ the only one who can deliver the investment required, either directly or indirectly. The Football club needs change, otherwise it will disappear into obscurity (I know already happened). The Fan base is disappearing, with the loss of some great at individuals, “smell the coffee and wake up!!!!”

What a tragic state for a once wonderful club, come on Mr Owner do something about it, and put some enthusiasm into  a sport which is clearly not on your agenda, and only a cheap lip service!

What rubbish us few supporters are having to endure. The worst I have seen for I don't know how long. Even Forzoni's football was better and that's saying something.
We get from Frank such stupid things like, 'Charlie is the most talented player I have worked with'. How does that go down with the other players? Then he says 'we can now consentate on promotion' I mean what planet is he on??
I have now had to watch them play Whitstable, Brackley and now Hythe. Just pump it up and hope for the best. It is just not good enough.
The way we are going we won't have any support, it is already dire, and we will be enyoying the delights of Combined Counties next season and not Ryman Premier.

Above the Bench, have to agree with your frustration. You cannot blame the Manager or the players or those other lost souls who passed through the club over the last 10 years.  The steady decline has been achieved year after year, through lack of respect for the Football Club, mainly to  to achieve ambitions based on a different agenda.

Take a look at the new website, (Paul, Please don’t give up on your site) covered in adds for all the Institutions who have provided grant funding for Imperial Fields. The new website should have been focussed on the Football Club not the owner’s agenda. I do not have a problem with the community element of the Company which runs Imperial Fields, But If even half the attention had been given to promoting the Football Club, and not the owners view and ambitions, we would have team worthy of watching today. I still can’t wait for 2017, when a stupid statement was made that we’ll be playing in the Football League!

The club played at Sandy Lane for over 85 years, and was purchased by the voluntary hard work of the fans and members. This was thrown all thrown out of the window on a squalid deal to “Save the Club” This Football club deserves more than the facial and embarrassing situations which have occurred over the years.

It’s time for the owner to step up to the plate, and get and seek the investment and know how required to  take the Football team he purchased to the level  the club should be playing at, and the surrounding it enjoys. If not why waste budgets on supporting forth rate football, and let everyone play and manage for free, and clear out the small band of remaining fans who have endured the humiliation of this farce.
The Football club needs complete change in every respect, there is only one person who canachieve this. Just seen a “Pink Elephant” fly past the window!
