Silence is Goalden

Walton Causels second goal on Saturday was greeted with total silence, not a peep. So much so that I was convinced I'd missed something, a linesman's flag or a referee's whistle, but no, the goal stood, which is more than can be said for their 3 fans in the stand who couldn't even muster a ripple of applause. For the second week running the home side had their biggest gate of the season so far thanks almost entirely to the size of our away following, god only knows what the attendance would have been on Saturday if Causels ( sorry, I must stop calling them that ) had been playing somebody like Chipstead who don't have an away following ( or much of a Home one for that matter ). Like Ashtree said, you have to feel sorry for Caus....sorry, Casuals, no programmes, no tannoy announcements (although I understand they're considering putting in a 7 dayer for Sisley), a 60 mile round trip for every home game,must be frustrating for them. It was only after checking the Web Pages site that I realised almost their entire defence comprised ex-Terrors, Badiali in goal, Quincy Rowe, Peter Wedgeworth and Osa Thingybob. No wonder they're conceding
