ABSENT FRIENDS

To all of you guy`s who for one reason or another have not been to some of the recent games, may I suggest a return to Imperial Fields, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Not wishing to blame individuals, but since the departure of our assistant manager /coach, our style of play has been a breath of fresh air, we are at last playing to feet and through our midfield, we have wingers who can cross the ball and in Gareth Chendlik, at last a forward who will challenge for balls in the air, be it from the keeper or a ball into the box.
The team spirit was there for all to see, the way the whole team celebrated with the scorer and between themselves shows what the team now means to them.
So now it is happening on the field, long may it continue and I suggest to you all, come on give it a try again, you know it makes sense.

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

Unfortunately Alan, due to the perils of shiftwork, I have unfortunately been unable to attend the last three games. So much so that I fear that certain members of the Bog End faithful may look upon me as a jinx. However, I have been greatly encouraged by the messages I have been receiving from others about recent performances. Long may this continue

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

I must admit Alan that I was one of the usual suspect that did not think that we could get better. As Ev has posted the team is more balanced & that we need to shore up the defence. With regards to the absent fans I would suggest an away game as we dont perform as well at Imperial Fields.

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

Fretters, I am sure you are not a jinx and when shift work permits and allows your return, I feel sure you will not be disappointed.

Know just what you mean Geoff, but hopefully that will change, starting Tuesday.

Good point Geoff, our last five wins in the league have all been away from home, at both the Casuals, Chipstead, Chatham and Whyteleafe. Our last victory at home in the league was against Peacehaven & Telscombe back on the 5th September.

Hopefully we can put that right against Three Bridges and the nasty Lee Carney ( a poor man's Alex Penfold ) tomorrow evening.

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

I assume that Simmo's three game (?) ban will start now? Or does it take longer to get processed?

Will be interesting to see who steps in at CB in his place.

I would guess one of Knocky or C.Neto alongside A.Morares

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

Or maybe Sol Patterson-Bohner!

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

Simeone's 3 game ban starts with Saturday's game against Walton & Hersham,  Cristiano Neto has a 1 game ban starting the same day

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

Good point. It will also be interesting to see who occupies that right back spot now with Jordan vs Sol PB

Both are very god players but in different ways. I fancy Jordan as the better attack minded RB, but Sol PB as the better defensively.

Interestingly, with the exception of out and out strikers, our bench on Saturday vs Casuals looked as strong as its been this season. With Sol PB, Sol Pinnock, Ashley Robbo, Mike Salako and the new guy that came on (sorry don't recall his name - but he was pretty effective when he came on!) we look relatively well stocked with options. It was great to see. Especially when you consider that both Knocky and C.Neto are still to come back in. TJ and Leon LD were also not part of the squad. I'd say we are still definitely one short of a quality out-n-out striker though. But squad looking healthier, and for now if Gareth is scoring goals, with contributions from others, then great!

Re: ABSENT FRIENDS

Well, I took the advise and went tonight thinking improvements have been made. I was wrong, it wasn't quite as bad as 7-2, but it was still poor. The attack has no bit to it, it's tame and the defence is still weak conceding goals to easily . I have been to ten games now this season and barring the Farnham cup game, I've seen tooting win just once against Carshalton so maybe it's me jinx ing the club.

I hope so, Routemaster, because all the Bog End Faithful are accusing me of being the jinx!!!
