Waiting for the following comments - thought we played well today - thought we were unlucky - just didn't get the breaks!! We can't We mustnt avoid the fact we are not performing - we are not better than the last two years - and we have let a quality striker - who got another two today - go to a better team with better prospects with a manager who gets results

Can fellow supporters inform me ? where were we in the league this time last year with that selfish centre forward who got 30 goals?

Yes - was going to say something like that! But you're right - there is only so many times you can blame luck before you need to look elsewhere.
We have got to start hitting the target. Then if the keeper has a blinder, we can start blaming luck again!

And just to stir things a bit - I see Vines scored twice today - and so did Summers! And for good measure Byatt put one away as well!

Either really - if you are getting forward a lot and getting the ball in the box a fair bit then you have to question why we're not testing the keeper enough. Sometimes the footballing gods are against you, but you can't blame bad luck week after week like we, the fans, (well, me anyway) are starting to do.

Can we stop going on about Dan Summers, he's gone so lets just get on with it. Another striker will come along at some stage and start banging goals in for us, maybe it will be Jake or Gareth, who knows. Summers didn't arrive with a big reputation and some on here didn't think he was good enough when he first came, nobody knew he would be so good.
Oh, and last November we were up in the play off positions............then hardly won a game till April.

Lets stop going on about , Vines , lets stop going on about Summers lets stop going about Byatt …there seems to be a pattern here ….problem is we have to wait another season , if the pattern continues , before the manager goes. Then we can start the circle again and blame it on ….Frank had his chance and blew it, Frank got rid of too many players too quickly , Frank got rid of Hamms too quickly , Frank changed the way we play too quickly.
I am making the point that we are not making progress, at least there was some optimism with a play off position and now? Still no more academy boys being given an opportunity either and players who looked to have excellent potential like Saidou have been moved on, the structure of the football club is a mess. But the money keeps rolling in so …….

Its no good being in a play off position in November, then being relegation candidates in May, as was the case last season. The football played in that period was nearly as bad as what we,ve seen this season, and that was with a 30 goal striker. Frank hasn't had his chance yet, he's had 4 months and he's learning on the job which isn't ideal I admit, but let him have a proper chance and lets see where we are at the end of the season. We actually played some good stuff yesterday and on another day could have scored a hatfull, and yes, I know Walton could have done as well, so I left the game with some optimism that we might string a few wins together and start climbing up the table.
Theres lots wrong with this club but Adkins has his model and it isn't going to change. He seems to like bargain basement management appointments, when a little more spent on an experienced manager could make a big difference. Tanner got two seasons, at least give Frank a bit more of a chance than this.

my first game since hastings agree with andy mc yes it was a good game, and could have ended up 5-5
some good stuff played to feet not too much long ball, but no different from the last game I saw not much cutting edge, and when chances came finishing was poor endo was right cant keep blaming all on bad luck
frank needs to get a proven goalscorer or maybe two in quick or I am sure we will struggle for the rest of the season.or has adkins cut the budget already.he has got previous for this.

Good comments Andy especially about Adkins model …not sure we were relegation candidates ever though but we all see things differently!! my point is this (or at least one of them!) Frank was at the club with Tanner who in fact brought him in . He saw first hand what worked and what didn't ….Tanner was learning on the job with Moriarty and in hind sight would no doubt do things differently now especially after November when he lost a key player, a goalkeeper, which added to the poor run .
Now if he (Frank) was there when it was working and was also there when it wasn't, why not tinker with the bits that weren't and show his mate Tanner how it should be done rather than rip it up get rid of excellent players, at the same time bin the notion of bringing through the academy players the life blood of any club like ours . If he had added to the bits that were working that would be the business model way surely and make an impression in your first 4 months . My view and a number of other fellow players is that Frank does not have a coaching clue, he was found out by players that had played at a higher level and that is why he had to get an almost totally new set of players in problem is Frank needs someone around him to show him the way (or take the blame) Hamms left because of this and I reckon a quiet word with the new coach would identify a similar view after just a few weeks.
Not sure if i am on a hiding here but are the fans happy now 4 months in with the football being played is it comparable to 2 years ago ? Not for me.
