Whyteleafe disaster - A reflection on the Terrors

After a very short period of time and stating from scratch Whyteleafe have made it to  the Isthmian Premier League. However, they have had to  move to  Cray Wanderers Ground in Sidcup to  fulfil their fixtures.

Basically, they only rent their old ground as the complex is owned by a consortium which includes Ian Rush. The 3G pitch needs renewing, which is not going to  happen, and  is not up to  standard to  play in the Isthmian Premier!
So the Leafe loyal have an unbelievable journey to  watch home games, and have to  confront the A20 which is a traffic disaster at this particular spot!

Conversely the Terrors travel of direction is the complete opposite direction. The Football team play at National League standard stadium, but they also do not own the ground. The  Terrors have plummeted down the leagues since the noughties, it seems the owner who has presided over this farce, shows zero interest in the football team which is in desperate need of change and investment. If you take Bromley FC over the same period of time, they were in a position of decline with very sparce crowds, also poor league and and cup results. The change came, new investors came on board, the club is now a central part of the community which Football is the driving force and they reached EFL league 1.

The volunteers at Tooting do  a brilliant job keeping the team alive but are deprived of a team that needs drastic help.

This Quote in 2005:-
"The challenge is to  make Tooting & Mitcham United FC the best semi-professional club in the land, one built on sound practice in all matters", (What happened lol).
