The Barmy Bog End Army » All a bit flat today/ v Hythe » 01/10/2016 8:30 pm |
Looked like we didn't want to be there.
I can only remember one proper shot on target all game (deep in the second-half).
Onwards and upwards.Bring on Norwich I guess.

Last Saturday was a bit of a mad one for me. Had to go to Swindon in the early morning and dashed back to catch the second half.
On the train going out I saw a little football ground (smaller than ours) beloninging to a Reading Town FC.
I quite like football teams nicking a name off their larger neaighbours. FC Manchester (or whatever they're called) are fine by me.

What exactly is the truth behind the Roy Sisley trifle story?Good natured... The man called me a liar and a cad and them humiliated me in front of my son.... He is a Poo Pants !!!
To be fair, this was after weeks of listening to slander from you about some Millwall fans being "rough" and "unsociable". ):

I heard a story that he ate so much trifle one time at Sandy Lane that he puked up
A story corroborated by Dave Irons, so it must be true.
I've just ordered a couple of trifle related t-shirts off the internet, my favourite one says ' Real Men Eat Trifle ' I want to get printed on the back ' So Does Roy Sisley '...............Sorry Roy.
I'd buy that t-shirt!
And that's the version I heard too. I think we're getting to the bottom of #triflegate

My big memory towards the end was bushes and flowers growing out of the terraces. Also seem to remember it being used for filiming a couple of times after it shut down but before it was turned into houses. (Danny Baker doing one of his football of the 70's shows if memory serves me.)
But what about #triflegate? Hearing so many different versions that it's confusing me. And the truth is out there.....somewhere.

My memory, and the fact that I didn't go to a game between us leaving Sandy Lane and last season, are making things, ahem, a......"trifle" confusing.

I thought it was for the old and not very fit. (I'm not very fit.)
Am I still eligible?

Is anyone on here doing the walking football at the ground at 6 pm on a Monday?
I was thinking of going but I'm not sure exactly what it is.
Anyone got any info?

Not a chance we'll make that - already booked solid for the next two weeks - unless of course the Herne Bay match is bounced in favour of the LSC (IF the Harrow/Beckenham game goes ahead of course, what with the weather etc.)
I love the factt that we're getting a Chelsea/Man City style fixture build-up. It won't be long before the manager starts demanding a mid-winter break.

Home advantage doesn't seem to count for much in our division this season. Looking at the league table only 3 teams have won significantly more games at home than they have away, namely Three Bridges, Molesey and not surprisingly Guernsey. No fewer than 7 teams have won more games away than they have at home ( including ourselves, 3 home wins, 7 away wins ). We desperately need to improve our home form.
Tomorrow we host rock bottom Whitstable where we got gubbed 3-nil earlier in the season. REVENGE !!
Good stat work mate.

I was one of about half a dozen Tooting fans at Carshalton v Casuals. A 300 plus crowd boosted by quite a few neutrals saw a 1-1 draw. The home team should have had this won easily but couldn't put their many chances away, Casuals only effort on target in the whole game with 5 minutes to go gave them an undeserved share of the points. No Summers or Marshal in the team either.
Interesting day yesterdy; Terrors undercover all over Surrey. We're like the Secret Service.

Saw a few of ours up at Whyteleafe today. Hadn't been there for years. Nice little ground. Handy for the station and virtually a Former TMUFC Players Second XI on the pitch. Nice enough.

Definitely the best I've seen us play this season.
Don't remember a single period where they controlled the game.
Only let up was deep in injury time.Bit I guess that's excusable.
