Very sad news. One of the players who was there when I first started following the Terrors.

He gave me one of my most fondest early Tooting memories with THAT goal against Thame United which kept us up on the last day of the season.

RIP David Gabriel

He has done so much damage to the club.

Personally, I thought he done a great job, Alan 😀😀😀😀

Still never mind. On the bright side, Big Sam is sniffing about.

The Barmy Bog End Army » TWO OUT OF TWO » 25/10/2018 4:57 am

Well done lads on last night’s result and also well done to the handful of hardy Bog End regulars who made the trip.up there. If I didn’t need to be up at such a ridiculously stupid hour this morning, I would also have been there.

Well it’s a no from me. Much prefer buying a programme at the gate.

Don’t think it will go down well with programme collectors, either.

Lets leave it as it is.... We have a horrible habit of looking stupid after games which have been seen to be easy wins for what ever reason... I bet Egham view Saturdays game as one they can win as well.

Exactly what I was thinking, Harry.

The Barmy Bog End Army » CHEATED! » 10/10/2018 12:46 am

Agree pretty much with everything you have said, there, Alan. Initially I wasn’t going to go to the game as I had other plans. But I decided that because haven’t had much opportunity to attend games this season, I thought I’d make the effort. Wish I’d stuck to my original plans now.

This was an ideal opportunity to build on the good work from Saturdays win. A wasted journey for me really.

The Barmy Bog End Army » What a difference a week makes!! » 06/10/2018 11:39 pm

A very happy Terror today. An excellent performance. Thought Bassett was my MOM. He ran his socks off and deserved his goal . The defence looked solid too. I’m liking Lexus with every game and also thought SPB had a decent game. Am hoping that Wedgie going off early in the second half was just a precaution. Also liked the look of Hibbert, who came on and set up Bassett for his goal.

Get him down here before it gets too late.

Totally agree, Matt. A change really needs to be made now. I don’t normally advocate a change of manager at this early in the season, but things are getting messy now. And for me Paul Dale is the ideal man to sort this mess out.

Must also stress that this is in no way having a pop at Ashley. He is a good guy who has been around the club for a number of years now. He is a decent coach, but for me, he is not manager material.

The Barmy Bog End Army » Aveley 3-1 Tooting Time for this experiment to end » 29/9/2018 10:15 pm

Thankfully wasn’t there to witness this latest chapter of woe. Normally when cup games arrive, I always feel a sense of optimism beforehand. Unfortunately, today I felt zero optimism prior to kick off and it dropped below zero when the vidiprinter flashed up 1-0 to Aveley in the first minute.

I always try to remain positive, even in the most dire situations, but  I just don’t see where the next point, let alone win, is going to come from. Confidence just seems totally shot. Action really needs to be taken quickly. This just cannot go on.

The Barmy Bog End Army » T&M 2 Ashford Town (Middx) 3 » 15/9/2018 11:41 pm

Despite another disappointing result, I cannot feel downbeat. A lot of our approach play was good. It was the end product that was missing. If there was an end product, we would have won this game. At 1-1 I felt confident, and I sensed that the mood amongst the Bog End faithful was positive and we were encouraging the players. But once the second Ashford goal went in, the negativity amongst some of us crept in again, and it seemed to filter on to the pitch.

We are going through a rough patch, I know. And believe me, I’ve supported the club through far worse periods than this. But I get really upset when I hear people start saying things like, “Combined Counties here we come!!!! “ We’re five games into the season for crying out loud!!!!! Some people it seems have written this season off already!!!! Give it time guys.

We move on

Rant over!!!!

TOOTING TILL I DIE!!!!

Having said that, given the circus going on there, he may yet reinstate himself before the end of the week.

Feel for the fans. They've been taken for a ride!!!

Is this the start of the slippery slope for FC Tampon???

The Barmy Bog End Army » Horley Town FA Cup » 25/8/2018 9:37 am

The goalkeeping situation does worry me somewhat. Last night was my first game of the season, and from what I saw, the goalkeeper doesn't exactly fill me with any confidence. I know he's only young, but I think it's a little too early for him to be first choice goalkeeper. But the real problem is that it seems there is inadequate back up, which makes letting Matte go even more bewildering.

Hope it's the Friday, or that's another game I can cross off the list!!!!

The Barmy Bog End Army » Northwood....... » 11/8/2018 10:37 pm

Lost for words really. And I wasn't even at the bloody game. There I was at work, all happy and jolly when I checked the score on the vidiprinter and we were 3-1 up. But due to past experiences supporting Tooting over the past 25 years, there is always that evil voice in my head telling me  that we will screw it up. And sure enough, at my next opportunity to check out the score at 5.00, we had indeed achieved that familiar Tooting trait of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Didn't exactly put me in a great frame of mind dealing with the great British public for the remainder of the evening. Maybe a good thing that I wasn't there, as I may have blown a gasket.

Speaking of blowing gaskets, how was our mate 2-4-6-8 Simon at the final whistle???

The Barmy Bog End Army » FA Cup & Trophy Draws... » 06/7/2018 2:15 pm

Think the game will probably be played on the Friday or the Sunday.

I know that the FA Cup starts with an Extra Preliminary round, but I can't ever recall the FA Trophy starting with it. Is this a first for the Trophy??

I share you're frustration, Casey.

Other clubs seems to be starting to do business, but there seems to be nothing happening Tooting wise. This happens all too often.
