That seems to be the case I'm afraid, but nothing will change while Mr Adkins is at the helm. Its still better than the previous seasons before Jamie took over, though. At least we are winning games now, and are gradually improving slowly. If we can get some consistancy into our form, we will be competing for playoff positions, hopefully next season.

Not a bad game considering the appalling weather conditions. Not too many scoring chances for either team but I think the home team just about shaded the possession and the few half chances that came about. Max Oldham the stand out player for me, he's very hard working, involved in every move and knows where the net is.

The return fixture in February should be interesting, I wonder if Spelthorne will play the same goalkeeper as he seems to be the main culprit in the trouble at the end of the game.

A brilliant afternoon out in the Bank Holiday sunshine. Tooting started of brightly with plenty of possession and our wide players created a few opportunities early on. A brilliantly taken free kick swiftly followed by a second goal from a corner around the twenty minute mark gave us the advantage. We seemed to drop off then and Balham slowly got into the game but we not able to create any decent chances. Half time 2-0.
The second half started off with Balham trying to get back in the game, they didn't have the quality to turn their possession into any serious goal threat. The game was effectively killed of with a third Tooting goal following a corner which wasn't cleared and fired back in low through a sea of legs into the Balham net. Many protests followed, with the Balham players apparently claiming to hear the referees whistle, a whistle nobody else heard.
The fourth goal I missed but got back in time to see a fracas in the technical area which resulted in both Jamie and Alex receiving yellow cards. I think this is going to be a common incidence this season, Jamie would have known this would be the case when he appointed Alex as his number two. It remains to be seen if the advantages of this arrangement outweigh the disadvantages, it will certainly provide some lively encounters during the season.
All in all a very satisfying afternoon, a decent crowd and brilliant atmosphere. Can't wait till next Saturday.

What a terrible story and what a piece of Rubbish he is. Hopefully he will get a hefty prison sentence and that will surely put an end to any future he might have had in any level of football.

A hugely disappointing season. I don't think anybody quite knew what to expect, but it wasn't this. If it wasn't for Shay Brennans goals we would have been in the relegation dogfight. I'm a big fan of Jamie Byatt and I think he should be given a fair chance and carry on next season. He does so much more for the club than just run the first team and it takes time to turn around the disaster of the last few seasons.
One good thing has changed, the ridiculous youth policy that put us in this position in the first place, hopefully gone for good. Money is a big factor but not the only one, I don't know Farnhams budget, very big I would think but they still have to know what to do with it, the right manager and staff, the right players etc, not easy putting that together even with plenty of cash. I spoke to the Knaphill manager earlier on in the season, their budget was 600 a week, he'd been there 10 years and look at the great season they have had. So I think its a blend of budget and knowhow, we are short on both. Realistically Adkins is not going to start throwing money at the team, we could change the manager again but without big increase in budget we would be back at square one. Farnham have had a freak season, everything has fallen into place for them, and its certainly not only because of the money, so well done to them. As for as emulating them, no chance of that whilst Adkins is owner, he is the problem, not Jamie.
Unless somebody has a Euromillions win, we are stuck with a tightfisted, disinterested owner so not much is going to change on the pitch. We can only hope that Jamie, now with a bit more experience, can make small improvements as time goes on, and eventually get us promoted out of this league.
Despite how disappointing this season has been, its STILL been better than the last few years, and the toxic atmosphere around the place has gone, so its not all doom and gloom.
In summery, keep Jamie Byatt, try and keep Shay Brennan, keep some faith and hope fo

Beaten by the better side. Bigger, stronger, more organised and more knowhow. We were restricted to a couple of half chances and didn't deserve anything out of the game. After the great midweek performance at Croydon Athletic I was a bit disappointed we didn't threaten their goal a bit more but they were just that bit too good for us.

One complaint from the home fans was Knaphills constant playacting and going down at every opportunity, which the weak officials fell for every time. We also had a mysery red red card towards the end of the game, but by that time I think we all knew we were going to finish the match empty handed.

Farnham away next Saturday is going to be interesting!

I can't see a repeat of that game, Chris. We've improved greatly since then and if we can defend as well as we did on Tuesday at Croydon Athletic we've got a good chance of winning the game. Hopefully our recent good form will result in a decent crowd this afternoon.

On paper, two pretty evenly matched sides. And so it proved. Not much to separate the teams, not much quality on show and both goalkeepers had mainly kicking duties to keep themselves occupied. 3 points though, and that is welcome whatever way it comes. Camberley may well say they deserved a point, and they could be right. If the normally reliable Shay Brennan had put away a seemingly easy chance late in the game the last ten minutes wouldn't have been so nerve wracking.

Didn't go but noticed 3 more goals for Shay Brennan. The only class player we have, at this rate he is going to get way over 30 league goals in his debut season for us. Has anyone else done this. Paul Vines, Nigel Webb maybe?

The old football cliche 'game of two halves' could have been written for this game. Having dominated the first half, we totally failed to turn up for the second half. How does that happen? Doesn't say much for the half time team talk. We had no answer to Epsom and they ran out easy winners in the end
Excellent away support as usual.

I would, amongst many others, be very disappointed if Jamie could not make a success of this. It would be sad to see his legacy as a playing legend at the club spoiled by a perceived failure as manager.  At the moment I have not heard anybody question his position, all criticism has rightly been aimed at the owner.

I believe Jamie will turn this round, we're on a terrible run of form at the moment but we've recently been losing by the odd goal, once we get players back we should start to turn those losses into draws and wins.

Are we really struggling to attract players? Why would that be? I could see that being the case during the last management disaster but not now, surely the word has got round now that it is all changed?
I don't know if our playing budget is considered low for this league, but it must be at least as good as many other clubs in this division. Decent players have avoided this club like the plague for the last 5 years and who can blame them. Maybe it takes more than a change of manager to turn that around. Yes, money makes things easier, but its no guarantee, countless clubs have found that out over the years. Adkins is not going to open the purse strings so we are going to have to compete the hard way against the other teams in this division. If Jamie can transfer his talent as a player, his determination to win, his enthusiasm and work ethic over to management, then I'm confident we'll see results turn our way.

Didn't O'Brien get our Man of the Match award, after being on the pitch for 10 minutes. Sums the situation up perfectly.

I remember the Bracknell away own goal very well. Our keeper, can't recall the name, had the habit of letting any back pass from our left side, come right across his body whilst thinking what he was going to do next. On this occasion he thought about it a bit too long and the ball rolled slowly into the net, to the great ammusement of the Bracknell fans behind the goal. Our left back (Simeone, was it?) just held his head in his hands with shock lol.

Well that was a grim afternoons entertainment. Four nil down inside half an hour and it could have been double that. We were totally outclassed all over the pitch with our defence virtually non existent and Redhill were able to stroll past our hapless back four at will.  Most of our problems seemed to come from our left side with the painfully slow Justus completely unsuited to the left back role, have we not got anyone as alternative? The return of Alex Penfold from injury also did not go well, an early booking for for him and his inability too keep his cool and his constant confrontations with the officials got him sinbinned after about 30 minutes. I was surprised to see him appear at the start of the second half, especially as we had a new centre back on the bench. He eventually got himself subbed after an ugly foulmouthed exchange with our manager. Where this leaves his future at the club, who knows?
A slight improvement in the second half, although I think that was more to do with Redhill taking their foot of the gas, the obligatory goal from Brennan at least gave as something to cheer about. Some major improvements to our squad needs to happen quickly, especially to our back four, if we want to stop us sliding down the table.

That happens on any football club forum, when there's more to moan about you get more opinion and comment.
As for this season, as Chris says, a more settled squad would help us, I suppose Jamie is still trying to improve our team so a few comings and goings is inevitable. I see a new centre back has arrived, hopefully he can help stop silly goals still being conceded.

Now we know the Combined Counties is better than we thought it would be, being mid table in November should not be too much of a surprise, if we finish there in April it should not be seen as a failure, if we are competing for playoffs that would be a bonus.

A game of two halves. An appalling first half, devoid of any quality from either side, it felt like an end of season game with nothing to play for. A different story after the break with the only class player on the pitch, Shay Brennan, making the difference. Two goals and unselfishly setting up the third made the Man of The Match award an easy decision. A great atmosphere in the ground, it doesn't take much to bring the fans back, just a winning team.

Didn't go as had other commitments. Whoever was calling for a defence coach a while back should be happy. If we've started to become hard to beat, I'll take that at the moment, the goals will come and I'm confident we'll be competing around the playoff places come the end of the season. Losing Brennan every few weeks is a major handicap that needs to be overcome, finding goalscorers even at this level seems to be difficult but I'm sure this is being looked at. This campaign was always going to have its ups and downs and the great start probably gave us a false sense of superiority, now reality has kicked in, the chances are we won't get promoted this time. Have patience and I'm sure it will come good in the end.

I think this league is a lot better than we gave it credit for before the season started. I think we're still going in the right direction, despite recent results. We have a new management team and whole new squad of players, so its not reasonable to expect us to hit the ground running and get results every week.
I think Jamie still has the support of the fans and its still better than we've had to endure for the last few seasons.

It was a funny old game, the scoreline flattered us somewhat. In the first half we were defensively woeful, mainly due to a strangely out of sorts Sol PB, who had a 45 minutes to try and forget. We could have conceded 6 in the half and for us to go two up was completely against the run of play. To go in at two all at the break was the least that Balham deserved. Sol PB did not come back out for the second half, as much for his own benefit as well as the team, with Lewis Gonsalves replacing him. Tooting gradually took control of the game and Balham looked less effective as the half went on. 4 goals for Shay Brennan, a great night for him, and a just about deserved 3 points for the Terrors.

The best way to enhance the matchday experience is to start winning games at home, something we haven't done for years. No gimmicks required. A winning team improves the mood and atmosphere in the stadium.
As for the bar, first off, remove that ridiculous screen, its impersonal and not required, Covid is not an issue. Get some actual beer in and drop the prices, there are pubs nearby that are cheaper and fans in recent seasons have used these instead of our dismal bar. And sort the toilets out.

Welcome news and completely the right thing to do. Financially it might not make much difference, 2 quid does not seem much but some fans will stay away if they think they are being ripped off. More fans at 8 quid versus less fans at a tenner will maybe work out about the same.

Too early to tell at this stage, obviously.  I don't know too much about the Combined Counties League, who are the big teams, who's got ambition, who's got money etc. Adkins is probably hoping for a swift return to the Isthmian without upsetting his bank balance too much, but what are the chances of this?  Croydon Athletic, could run away with it with their new wealthy owners. Any other clubs with a bit of money and ambition could put us out of contention straight away.
