The Barmy Bog End Army » latest update from management » 15/4/2023 6:39 pm |
Four police officers attended, not to finish the season there and then but it looked like to investigate skulduggery!
They even sampled the delight of Tooting & Mitcham Utd losing at home again from the safety of the car park.

Report and highlights. I will say nothing about the saved penalty and miss from the rebound.
The players from both teams did well in those conditions and was it bad enough for the fans too.
The Barmy Bog End Army » The final nail in the coffin? » 09/2/2020 3:34 pm |
A good summery Bondy. Teams have worked out how to play against TMUFC by stopping the Wingbacks getting forward and without the creativity in central midfield at the moment don't have an out pass.
Confidence is also low in some players.
We are missing the passing of Darryl Coleman and also the guile of Didi Castanho.
With more tough games coming lets hope for a change a fortune starting with Ware.
The Barmy Bog End Army » BE...WARE !!! Of the TERRORS!!! » 15/12/2019 1:27 pm |
It was a tough ask putting on a "free" game so close to Christmas as many of the possible new supporters are likely to have other commitments. That said, congratulations to everything who helped out as it wasn't just about the football being played on the pitch.
Anyone who did visit first the first time I think would have been surprised by the standard of football.
A deserved win against an in-form Ware team and another tough game coming up on Tuesday against Westfield. It's just a shame that the South West Trains strike is still going on, preventing some fans attempting make the trip as there is no guarantee what trains will be running.
"Westfield Beware Of The Terrors, They're Going To Pull You Apart" or something like that Dandy Livingstone might sing.

Hady looked a promising talent in the second game I saw him play against Egham last season. He came off the bench to change a likely defeat into a comeback win (3-1 down to 3-4).
He always worked hard even during the long 1st team goal drought. Now the strength is coming into his game, sometimes it is easy to forget they are playing against older players.
I think Jake Baxter tried to outwit James Shaw when taking the penalty but Shaw "Taylor" kept his eyes peeled to save. A vocal goalkeeper which is a great asset as his words are constructive.
All real team performance by all.

The Barmy Bog End Army » A Stain on the season so far ? » 20/11/2019 9:32 pm |
Some good points and I hope the mini home form slump ends soon. Remember we are still unbeaten away from home in the league.
That said, the pitch has taken a battering from the weather in the last 2 months and of course the amount of games that have been played and are to be played in the coming weeks.
I wonder if that was a reason for the amount of long balls being playing against Staines in the second half?
It's plastic on Saturday and time to find some form again.

The Barmy Bog End Army » HANWELL TOWN Win » 16/11/2019 7:47 pm |
I'm not going to dissect the game today, but what was clear to see was that Hanwell Town came with a game plan to press our defence and stop any built up play which worked well in the first half. Also to exploit the space behind the Wing backs.
It's a good reality check for our players that we must take the chances created or just work the goalkeeper more often.
Yes, Hanwell Town did defend very well and managed to see out the game with the usual delaying antics.
An observation, shouting and cursing at the Referee and the assistants from the 5th minute onwards will not make them give us more decisions or make the team play better. Some fans just can't see that!
Looking at the league table, two statistics stand out. Hanwell Town with Tooting & Mitcham United have the best defensive records but at the opposite end in attack TMUFC have scored the lowest amount of goals in the top half of the table and probably the lowest chance to conversion rate.
All this said I do enjoy watching the football we are attempting to play and hopefully it won't be too long before teams will suffer just like Margate did last weekend with clinical finishing our play deserves.

The Barmy Bog End Army » JUDAS IN THE CAMP? » 19/10/2019 8:42 pm |
Something about nothing Gary. Praise who you like.
It should have said "Is there a clinical striker in the camp" after a lucky escape against FC Romania today.
The Barmy Bog End Army » Whyteleafe. FA trophy video. » 19/10/2019 9:17 am |
The squad picked for the Surrey Cup were good enough to win the game. It wasn't a case of the managers sending a team out to lose the game. They will be very disappointed to have lost, just as much as the attending fans.
The Barmy Bog End Army » Whyteleafe. FA trophy video. » 17/10/2019 10:11 pm |
It's all about opinions and Gary you have a valid one.
I personally thought the squad should have deep enough to win the game, but I have no problems with the rotation of the players as we don't want to end up like Whyteleafe who already have a backlog of games.
It's a shame to exit the Surrey Cup at this stage but promotion and the league games have to be the priority of the season.
Hopefully many goals against FC Romania and not the farcical defeat of last season against Cheshunt on their non-league/family day when 1 or 2 were fans oblivious the children around them in the second half.

A fully deserved win. Listen to AB and CN post match interview below,
Also the Dorking Wanderers manager Marc White.
The Barmy Bog End Army » Tooting 3 Ashford 1 » 21/8/2019 8:36 pm |
Compared to the start of last season I am very pleased that the managers Ashley & Cornelius have a strong squad of players that know their roles and the value they add to the team when called upon.
Passing with a Purpose in mind or Negative Possession?
Tooting and Mitcham United FC do the former, so I am also miffed when I occasionally hear "Get it Forward"
Some Premiership teams could learn a thing or two by watching TMUFC.
I know it does sound as I have been dropped on my head but I watched some Premiership teams last season and this attempting to play a similar system very poorly.
Dynamic! Motivated! Gifted!
The Barmy Bog End Army » PLAYER OF THE SEASON » 09/4/2019 9:42 pm |
The memory is coming back. All very good goals.
My short list is turning into a long list for both player and goal.
Last year my goal of the season was Chace's long range blockbuster and the player was DMG.
Back to this year and is much tougher to pick.

Alanj, That Isaiah "Ali Shuffle" surperb goal against Marlow was at the front of my mind but was trying to remember any others as good.
I know my best game which was the pivotal game of the season.
The Barmy Bog End Army » PLAYER OF THE SEASON » 06/4/2019 8:54 pm |
It's to be a private vote, but the 2 players mentioned are good choices on my shortlist of 4 which has to be cut to 3. Oops! Haha.
Struggling with the goal of the season though or the brain needs a reminder.
The Barmy Bog End Army » Meet the manager » 02/4/2019 7:12 am |
I have seen that there will be another chance to meet the Managers and also ask questions to the members club, as a Fans Forum will be held on Wednesday 10th April 2019 7:00pm (7:30pm start) in the Function room at the Campus Society Stadium.
The Barmy Bog End Army » WARE » 03/3/2019 8:44 am |
A fair assessment of the game Alanj, but it was more like 35 minutes of first half pressure and quick passing from "The Wolves of Ware" showing they can play some good football. Somehow we were only one down by the time Leon Lalor-Dell scored two quick goals. I must say the quality of all four goals were very good.
I also like to praise AB and CN for their in game management after the shaky start, and also the whole team for yet another pleasing away performance.
The Barmy Bog End Army » A WELL DESERVED POINT! » 17/2/2019 3:00 pm |
Yes we did stuff Waltham Abbey 2-0. The only problems I remember were getting to the ground by public transport or otherwise and the low sun in the first half!
Now back to the Marlow game, I missed the Mini Melee in which led to Isaiah Jones and the Marlow number 8 being sent off as was watching Jordan Wilson after his knee gave way. It looked like a bad injury and best wishes for a quick recovery. I'm even more surprised the Facebook page report doesn't even mention Jordan Wilson.
Apart from Isaiah's soft shoe shuffle that bamboozled 2 defenders and the goalkeeper to score a very good goal.
Another moment was the Marlow keeper gloating that "your best player has been sent off" only to see their number 8 get red too!
A positive away day performance even with a few players missing for various reasons and were never second best against a defensively strong Marlow team.
The Barmy Bog End Army » POINT WON OR POINTS LOST ? » 10/2/2019 7:38 am |
Before the game I would have said 2 points dropped, but after the game it was a point gained as Northwood created much more chances in the second half.
Morgan Campbell made a couple of good saves to keep the score at 1-1. I don't think the Northwood goalkeeper had to make a real save in the second half.
Also the number 2 Sam Jenkins kept Isaiah Jones and Danny Bassett very quiet.
More worrying is the home form at the moment. Could it be that the players are not comfortable kicking towards the "Chafer Bug" End especially on the left-hand wing?
In comparison, the TMUFC away form is outstanding.
The Barmy Bog End Army » Hertford away » 27/1/2019 2:55 pm |
A good performance from all of the team, especially after Daryl Coleman got send off after approximately 35 minutes for an elbow to face of the Hertford No.5 Charlie Edwards. Seeing it live, it looked like a sending off offence but apparently it was a straight arm not an elbow when both players tussled for position. I doubt if the referee will downgrade it to a caution if TMUFC appeal though.
The first goal was well worked after Saidou Khan skipped past the defender on the left and sent over a teasing cross which was met by "Super" Stefan Ilic with a great downward header.
After Hertford Town equalised after a scrambled attempted clearance it was left to Goal Poacher Supreme "You Know We Got" Sol Patterson-Bohner to pounce at the far post to squeeze the ball over the line after "Super" Stefan Ilic's corner was flicked on by "He Comes From Lebanon" Hady Ghandour to secure the win.
Well played to all the players, coaching staff and of course to all who travelled to the North of Nowhere to follow The Terrors.
Remember that if you cannot get to any of games just follow TMUFC on twitter as it normally has good video updates of most of the games, although it's the wrong screen format (can we have widescreen 16:9 and not phonescreen pretty please).
Football aside, from what I saw during daylight hours Hertford looks like a nice town.
The Barmy Bog End Army » First game I have attended this season ..... now I'm over 60!!!! » 09/12/2018 12:36 pm |
The team is moving in the right direction with more competition for places especially in midfield.
Nice to see Stefan Ilic is starting to fulfil his promise with two good goals.
Daryl Coleman also scored with an outstanding long distance strike.
Let's hope the birds have eaten most of the Chafer grubs, as the pitch
is looking bare and muddy in places.
The Barmy Bog End Army » NOT WHAT WAS EXPECTED. » 18/11/2018 11:24 am |
Hopefully one or two players will be back by next weekend and can be the start another unbeaten run.
Regarding the management team, they normally do stay out on the pitch or sidelines at half time the discuss things before going to the dressing rooms to see the team.
We will see on Tuesday (cup game) depending on the squad selected, but most certainly next Saturday how the team responds.
